Mini ArtsAlive! Festival at Grove Hall
Come and enjoy a day of family fun: Daniel Mckell’s CD release at the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, the Durham County Poets and more….
The Event will mostly be held outdoors (Clay workshop will be inside).
Teddy Bears Picnic 11:00
Before Daniel’s concert, we are going to put out our blankets and have a picnic under the big circus tent and the trees. There will be animators present to make sure everyone get a tasty healthy snack and has fun. This will all be done with clear focus on health and safety. This even is aimed for the pre-school crowd.
So BYOB&B- bring your own bear and blanket.
Daniel Mckell Concert- 11:30
We are proud to announce that the premiere and release of Daniel’s new album called “Welcome to the Purple Park” will be presented at Grove Hall in this outdoor concert.
Daniel’s music always brings a sense of nostalgia and fun. I have often thought of his genre as kid’s music for grown-ups with Daniel’s quirky sense of humour and fabulous banjo riffs. Inspired by his own terrific children, Daniel has now created an album aimed specifically for the young and the young at heart. During the concert there will be some special guest joining him on stage.
Inspired by the occasion and to celebrate families, we are making the concert a mini ArtsAlive! Festival, complete with Teddy Bear’s picnic and an art workshop.
Make a Wish Box- 12:45
Clay Workshop with Deirdre Potash
Feng Shui tells us that the arrangement of objects in a space and in relation to each other can focus the unseen energy in the universe. The participants will carefully craft a small box in order to strengthen the magic of a wish kept inside.
